When John McCain selected Governor Sarah Palin, as his running mate, the Democrats and their far-left constituency let out a primal scream that could be heard from sea to shining sea. How dare he choose someone that they and their pals in the media had not had a chance to vet (i.e. libel, slander, and otherwise and otherwise eviscerate). Ah, but it was not too late. These seekers of “a new kind of politics” poured torrents of malicious abuse upon her and her family.

Katie Couric: “What did you learn from that experience?”

(CNN)– Gov. Sarah Palin will now spend two and a half days near Sedona, Arizona, to prepare for Thursday’s debate, instead of prepping in St Louis, as originally planned.
Sarah Palin will be at John McCain’s rustic creek side home outside Sedona for what a top aide calls “debate camp.”

Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin met Sunday with a group of military mothers at a downtown eatery, the third day of a swing through this Democratic stronghold.
The Alaska governor, along with her 14-year-old daughter, Willow, spent about 45 minutes sipping a skinny white chocolate mocha and talking privately with four women whose children are serving in the military overseas.

Julia Roberts might not be too happy when she finds out that the woman she portrayed in a movie of the same name, Erin Brockovich, is currently praising Sarah Palin. This is considered an act of treason by the left. And that is not the only “heresy” committed by Erin Brockovich who, until recently, was considered to be a “progressive.”

Kathleen Parker is a conservative columnist for the National Review Online. Yesterday, her column called for Sarah Palin to step aside and allow John McCain to choose a new running mate. This column is written in response to Ms. Parker’s.
—————————–
Well, this is just great. Just what flavor was that Kool-aid they gave you?
I guess it’s not bad enough that liberal intelligentsia are beating up on Sarah Palin, now the conservative pundits are going to jump in on the fun.
The mainstream media have picked up on your story and one can almost hear them snickering over what you wrote. It’s probably the most attention one of your articles has gotten from them in quite some time.
Even if Sarah Palin were damaged goods (and I don’t think she is) do you really think that dumping her in favor of someone else is the right thing for John McCain to do at this stage of the campaign? Do you really not see that would be just another excuse for liberal pundits to pontificate about John McCain’s so-called poor judgment?
It would be a difficult enough to make that decision if there were really something wrong with Sarah Palin, but as far as I can see, the only thing “wrong” with her is that people like Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric don’t like her. Who gives a flying monkey what those two think?
Ms. Parker, the only reason I can see for writing this hit-piece on Sarah Palin is that you are no different from the rest of your colleagues in the mainstream media. Maybe if you ask nicely Barack Obama will give you front-row seats to his inauguration.
With any luck, you can sit right in between Katie and Charlie.

CBS New anchor Katie Couric ordered staff to drop all references to “Governor” or “Gov.” from her interview with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. When a staff member pointed out that in other venues, Couric and CBS News had referred to Governor Palin’s opponent, Joe Biden, using his title of “Senator” or the abbreviation, Couric, according to a CBS News editorial aide, sought approval from CBS News management to drop the “Governor” reference during her broadcast interview with Palin that began on Wednesday night.
“It’s not true,” said another CBS News source. “We treat everyone the same.”
But, in fact, that’s not the case: as late as September 22, CBS News and Couric — even on the CBS website — used Biden’s honorific. Here is an excerpt from the transcript of a Couric interview with “Sen.” Biden:
Katie Couric: How is it preparing for the debates?
Sen. Joe Biden: Well, it’s kind of hard to prepare because I don’t know what she thinks. There’s been no — I don’t know a lot about her, so I have to assume for purposes of the debate that she agrees with John on everything.
Now compare that the transcript of the “Palin” interview:
Couric: Why do you say that? Why are they waiting for John McCain and not Barack Obama?
Palin: He’s got the track record of the leadership qualities and the pragmatism that’s needed at a crisis time like this.
In fact, at no point during the broadcast interview does Couric refer to the GOP vice presidential nominee as “Governor.”

The political press may continue to grumble about their lack of access to GOP vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin. But the 100 powerful women gathered Wednesday to support the White Ribbon Alliance, an international group of organizations to prevent the death of women in childbirth, got a rare audience with the rising political star.
