MEDIA Pa – Sarah Palin threatened to steal the show from running mate John McCain as she warmed up the crowd at their joint appearance at a rally on Monday in Pennsylvania.
“Sarah, Sarah, Sarah,” chanted the crowd as the Republican vice presidential candidate stepped on stage in the town of Media.
“I see a lot of hockey moms out there for McCain,” she said as the crowd roared its approval. She went on to introduce her family, calling husband Todd ”Alaska’s First Dude,” before pointing out their daughters Willow and Piper.
Palin quickly launched into criticisms of Democratic Sen. Barack Obama, whom she said “likes to point the finger of blame but, tell me, has he ever lifted a finger to help?”

“The selection of Sarah Palin as McCain’s VP placed him back in center court for women voters,” says Republican pollster Kellyanne Conway. With the Palin pick, McCain strengthened his support among women, with 45 percent of women now saying they will support the Republican ticket and 47 percent pledging to support the Democratic ticket.

Palin vs. Obama
The race unfortunately has been framed the last two weeks by Democrats as one of Obama versus Palin. That will stop as Obama realizes he loses should it continue. Nevertheless, the comparison of the respective experiences of a McCain and Obama is so much in favor of the former, that it requires no discussion. So I turn to Palin, given the charges that she is unfit and clueless.

Viewers, Bloggers Think Skit Went Over Line
For the second week in a row, NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” has taken to lampooning Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin — but this time, it has angered conservative viewers over a skit that suggests that the Alaska governor’s husband, Todd Palin, was having sex with the couple’s daughters.

Dear Supporter,
When I joined John McCain as his running mate, I knew I was in for a roller coaster ride of ups and downs on the campaign trail. But, I want you to know that I joined John McCain and the others on our ticket in this great election because I’m putting our country first.

JohnMcCain and I have been called “mavericks” and “reformers” because we’re guided by shared values and principles and we’re not afraid to stand up to the status quo in their defense. And that’s why we want you to send us, and other reformers like us, to Washington.
Will you help send us to Washington by making a generous contribution of any amount to McCain-Palin Victory 2008 right away? Your financial support will go a long way in electing Reform Republicans in November.
As the mother of an active duty soldier, I want John McCain as our next Commander in Chief. And I want to elect a Congressional majority in November who has the courage to support our troops and who will stop bowing to political pressure and admit the surge has been successful. We need to send a team to Washington who will support the brave men and women in uniform and bring them home with their heads held high in victory.
Friends, in the course of a few weeks, the Obama-Biden Democrats have launched attack after attack on me, my family and John McCain. They’re desperate to win and they’ll no doubt launch these attacks against other reformers on our ticket.
They are spreading lies and misinformation and we must stop them. Your immediate contribution of any amount- whether it’s $25 or $250- helps McCain-Palin Victory 2008 fight back before they turn these shameful tactics on others we support.
I’m sure you’ve heard that in this election, the Obama-Biden Democrats have a large financial advantage over us. You can help us close this gap today by following this link to make your secure online donation to McCain-Palin Victory 2008. The financial support you give today will make all the difference in this election. Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,

Governor Sarah Palin
Because the McCain-Palin Campaign is participating in the presidential public funding system, it may not receive contributions for any candidate’s election. However, federal law allows the McCain-Palin Campaign’s Compliance Fund to defray legal and accounting compliance costs and preserve the Campaign’s public grant for media, mail, phones, and get-out-the-vote programs. Contributions to McCain-Palin Victory 2008 will go to the Compliance Fund, and to participating party committees for Victory 2008 programs.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 22 (UPI) — The selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as Republican U.S. vice presidential nominee has greatly increased the GOP ticket’s appeal to women, a poll indicates.
Since she was chosen by Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain of Arizona, Palin has helped the GOP ticket erase a once-wide lead held by Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois on the question of who best understands women’s issues, Politico, a Washington publication, reported Monday.
Citing a survey by pollsters Kellyanne Conway and Celinda Lake for Lifetime Television, the Web site said the McCain-Palin team holds a 44 percent-to-42 percent lead over the Democratic ticket on who has a “better understanding of women and what is important” to them. Obama held a 52 percent-to-18 percent lead on the question in July, the pollsters said.

Post-convention swing state polls are tipping toward Sen. John McCain, the TV pundits are waxing about “The Palin Factor,” and Sen. Barack Obama’s California supporters are freaking out about a race Democrats were uncommonly confident about only a month ago.
Conversely, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s addition to the GOP ticket jolted Northern California Republicans out of what one described as their “Underground Railroad” existence in one of the nation’s most liberal regions. Ever since her speech to the Republican National Convention on Sept. 3, party officials say volunteers have been contacting California GOP offices in numbers unseen since Ronald Reagan was on the ballot for the White House.

A few weeks before the Republican convention, Time magazine asked Sarah Palin what her religion was. “Christian,” she said. Asked whether she was any particular kind of Christian, she replied, “No. Bible-believing Christian.” Ever since John McCain asked Palin to be his running mate, her religion has been high on the list of subjects journalists have pursued. Although Palin herself hasn’t brought it up and has mostly declined to be interviewed on the matter, it is already clear that her religious background contains material unfamiliar to media and political elites. Few politicians at Palin’s level describe themselves as Bible-believing Christians.
